LQIP-3 - Promote Liquity 6x in my crypto newsletter over a period of 3 months [800 LUSD]

1. Goals

The goal is to increase Liquity’s user base in all German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) by promoting Liquity on a regular basis in my weekly newsletter.

If you compare Liquity to other borrowing protocols, it’s a no-brainer for ETH. Hence, the main challenge is to educate people on the advantages.

My plan? 6 x unique promotions in my weekly newsletter over the course of 3 months that highlight different aspects of Liquity.

I’ll also link in the emails to various Liquity videos on my YouTube channel for more information and a higher conversion rate.

2. Benefit & Impact

First-order effect: More users and higher brand awareness.
Second-order effect: Positive word of mouth from existing users.

3. Context

I run a German YouTube channel (8.4k subscribers) that is heavily focused on DeFi protocols. Most of my subscribers are already familiar with vault mechanics. That’s rare.

Since I only promote things that I’m personally using, my conversion rates are quite high whenever I recommend something.

In addition, I’ve built an email list over the years with around ~2,500 subscribers. My open rate varies between 51-58%.

These emails are typically long-form content about the market or interesting DeFi protocols that I’ve discovered. They also contain several custom-made pictures.

4. Scope & Deliverables

My plan is to integrate Liquity in my newsletter 2x per month over a test period of 3 months (= 6 promotions in total). Every promotion will be unique.

Furthermore, all links from these promotions will be tracked so that we can evaluate the success (or lack thereof) after 3 months.

After 3 months, I’ll share the results. If it meets your expectations, we can talk about a long-term collaboration - only if you’re interested.

5. Timeline

  • February 2023: 2x email promotions
  • March 2023: 2x email promotions
  • April 2023: 2x email promotions
  • May 2023: Sharing the results & potentially plan a long-term collaboration

6. Dependencies

There are no dependencies.

7. Ask & Payment

Each newsletter takes about 2-3 hours of time.
(The text & pictures are unique and custom-made)

I’m asking for a budget of 800 LUSD.
No upfront funding is required.

I support this proposal. It always feels to me that (still today!) Liquity is not a “mainstream” money market within the English-speaking community (which is probably +80% of the users?, just guessing), can imagine it’s not as popular in other communities, in this case german-speaking.

Hey Kevin, one of the biggest issues when doing translations/non native information is the obsolence of information.
This is specially true in crypto because the space sometimes moves so fast!
Since I do not speak nor read German, how do your videos/newsletter suffer the passage of time and the changing ecosystem?

Obviously, crypto & DeFi is fast moving. Hence, I’m using 2x platforms (YouTube & Newsletter) that are made for fast moving content. The content only has to be accurate when it’s published and that’s when it gets most views.

→ Very few people read through old emails & only most views on YouTube come within a few days. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’d be a completely different thing if my plan was to create a website with SEO content about Liquity (= my main job) → This is a slow medium & can take 7-11 months until an article even shows up in top 10 ranks on Google to generate traffic.

→ Hence, I’d never built a website around crypto, because you have to constantly update all old articles, if you don’t want to become a news-only website.

Hope that makes sense. If you have further questions, just let me know :slightly_smiling_face:
